Brief Description:  Fitted F-1211 assembly to stabilator

Working step 1 page 10-05. Installed F-1211 assembly with AN4-12A bolts with AN960-416L washers under heads to stabilator mounting points. Centered the F-1211 assembly and checked for smooth operation stop to stop. Measure thickness of AN960-416 washer as 0.0625 and AN960-416L washer as 0.310. Used feeler gauge to measure gaps on each side of bearing on both left and right sides. Measurements on right side bearing were 0.656 inboard side and 0.032 on outboard side. Left side bearing measured 0.6156 inboard side and 0.032 on outboard side of bearing. Installed AN960-416 washer on inboard side or right bearing and installed AN960-416L washer on inboard side of left bearing. Checked for side to side play and freedom of motion stop to stop. All looked good. F-1211 assembly is centered in opening and no play side to side. Super glued the two washers in their respective positions and checked again for motion and play – all looked good. As a side note I had asked Vans technical support if it was acceptable to have a washer on only one side of the bearing as it seemed to imply in the instructions stating the washer size and if required. They confirmed that this was indeed acceptable. Removed and stored the stabilator.
