Brief Description:  Torqued fuel fittings and worked F01270-L

Torqued the 3/8” AN fittings on tube between the fuel shutoff valve and fuel pump outlet. Also torqued the AN fittings on line between the flow transducer and the fuel shutoff valve. Use crows foot to torque to 110”lb. range for 3/8 fitting is to be 75-125” lb per spec. Accounted for the added length of the crows foot so actual setting of torque wrench calculated to be 96”lb to get the desired torque of 110”lb. ( TxL)/(L+E) where L = torques wrench length and E = added length for crows foot. T = required torque.
Working step 1 – page 23-05. Cut out the wing spar penetration hole in the F-1270 Fuselage Side Skin to create left side skin. Started by marking out the shaded areas labeled in Figures 1 and 2. Drilled a large hole with a step drill inside the shaded area (marked remove hatched area in Figures 1 and 2). Used snips to cut close to, but not at the edge of the shaded area. Snipped around a final time removing material up to the trim line around the shaded area. Deburred the edge of the hole with a file.
