Brief Description:  disaster

Wet sanded lower cowling down to 3000 grit. Still needs more sanding.

Yesterday when I primed the left wing I found that the stand that I had made was too short to paint the wing trailing edge as it was a bit too close to the floor. I attemted to extend the stand by adjusting the sawhorse legs 8 inch higher and putting an 8 inch extension on the foot that held the wing outer portion off the floor. Working by myself, I attempten to lift the main spar onto a higher sawhorse and lost balance. The wing fell onto a jack that I had positioned to hold the wing up while I extended the 2x4 foot. Surface damage to the wing lower surface but did not puncture the skin. There was also some damage to the trailing edge lower surface.

Repaired the trailing damage with a 2 bid carbon patch on the interrior surface and micro on the exterrior surface. Repaired the wing skin damage by sanding down to carbon and adding micro. Tomorrow I'll reprime and sand.

Primed the right wing.
