Wet sanded left side upper cowling with 1500 and 3000 grit. Buffed with 3M #1 and #2.
Only sanded and buffed the left side so I could see what difference it made and whether it's going to be worth it to do the whole plane. The basic paint job was fairly good...you had to look closely to see any orange peel. After wet sanding and buffing it's totally smooth. I guess that I'll become a professional wet sander and buffer for the next few weeks.
Sanded painted edges of oil door and oil door frame due to paint closing up the kerf a little too much.
