Layed up 4 bid carbon strip 3" wide along upper cowling where hinge half will mount. This is to bring the inner surface of the upper cowling flush with the inner surface of the lower cowling so that hinge will lay flat on both halves.
After cure, mounted cowling, inserted pin through hinge halves and began clecoing the upper hinge half to the upper cowling. Removed and reinserted pin several times and found that it lines up fairly well. Yesterday, without the 4 bid layup the hinge would not line up sufficiently to insert pin.
