Brief Description: Balancing of Control Surfaces

Balancing of Ailerons and Flaps - The aileron and flaps were mounted on na special jig to allow free movemnt - Calculated weight to allow for covering and painting was place on the CoG of the control surface - Counter Weight prepared for the nose tubes of the control sutface. Molten lead was then poured into the tubes - Complete counterweight tubes were then installed in the nose of the control surfaces and then rivetted into place

Aileron mounted in jig and lead weightfor covering/paint fixed to CoG of control surface

Counterweight tube filled with lead weighed to be sure proper countereight is achieved

Completed tube inserted into nose, checked for balanced and rivetted in place
