Brief Description: First Inspection of Wing prior to Closing Wing Ski
1st Inspection by Geoff Shrimski (SAAA):
- Inspected wing structure, quality of riveting, bolts and fasteners and general construction.
- Advised that he was satisfied with the work undertaken
- Requested that the bolt for the aileron pushrod connection to bellcrank be replaced by a longer bolt to achieve minimum of two threads showing beyond the installed nyloc nut. When advised that a longer bolt would protrude excessively, he recommendet to replace the currently installed regular Nyloc AN365-428A nut with a AN364-428A nut. This advice was based on the function of this bolt connection, i.e. bolt is only used in shear, hence the thinner nut is suitable for this application
- InstalledAN970 flat washer as a pushrod bearing retainer
- Replaced the AN365-428A nut with a AN364-428A nut and torqued the bolt.
