Brief Description:  Instrument Panel - Construction 1/4

Construction:

The panel lay out was divided into three panels with the two outer panels being shock mounted on the main panel which carries the centre panel with the radio stack, chronometer and the Volt/Amp meter. Shock mounts used were 0.38" diameter LORD Instrument Panel Shock Mounts to facilitate vibration damping of the Gyros and the Garmin G3X display panel.

- LHS Analog Instrument Panel:
This panel was built using 0.040 Aluminium sheeting with both sides and the lower edge folded back for stiffening (the upper edge was left straight, given that it would be hidded under the glare shield. To carry the considerable weight, the panel is mounted with 10 shock mounts and supported by the original instrument panel, suitably cut out to allow forward removal of the panel for servicing.

- RHS Digital/Engine Monitoring Instrument Panel:
Same construction as for the LHS panel, except that only 6 shock mounts needed to be used to carry the panel weight.

- Centre Radio Stack and Auxiliary Instrument Panel:
This panel is part of the main panel without vibration damping and was suitably strengthened with aluminium angles to carry the radio stack.
