Spent ages tonight trying to decide between fastening the lower fairings to the pants with screws and nut plates, or bond them in place and split them along the vertical plane. In the end after much deliberation I decided to go with Vans method.
Left hand fairing in place
I put parcel tape around the edge to act as a release agent
Mixed up a slurry and applied it around the edge after roughning up the gel coat
