A fellow 7 builder alerted me to potentilal problem of the rudder cable getting hooked up on the flap mechanism. Today I fitted the rudder cable to pedal links and discovered that if you pull both rudder pedals aft or wag the rudder side to side there is enough slack in the cable for it to hook under the flap actuator bolt, not good.
This is with the flaps lowered, if the flaps are up then the problem is even more accentuated
The simple fix is a plastic tube to cover the cable between the two bulkheads
