I first decided to actuate the trim tab via a lever arm, however I did not like the idea of cutting the rudder skin and extending the push rod into the slipstream. I decided to use a push-pull cable to actuate the trim tab. Based on the current design I believe the trim forces will be minimal and will not create a failure situation for the push-pull cable. At this point I am moving forward with this design however I will be checking into the trim forces verifying if this setup will work or not.
Had some design issues, because of the possible load distributed from the trim tab back to the plate mounted with the trim servo. The plate would flex and curl so some channel was added to reinforce the plate.
