Picture 1 shows the spinner backplate. The red wire is a dummy, to show the routing of the fuel line from the fuel pump to the gascolator.
Picture 2 shows how I checked the centreing of the spinner. I mounted a set square on a block of wood on a step ladder. Rotating the prop with the lower spark plugs removed showed that there was no horizontal or vertical movement of the pitot tube.
