Brief Description:  Fit Stick Grips

My Stick Grips arrived from Aircraft Spruce. These are basic grips with no pre-installed buttons or swiches, so no military multi-function grips for me.

I had some difficulty inserting the PTT button. These go up the inside from the bottom and are secured with a nut on the top. I had to drill a quarter-inch hole in the top for this, but being rubber it stretched while being drilled. A 1/4 inch drill bit produced a much smaller hole. I eventually took courage and upsized my drill bits, eventually using a much bigger bit to end up with a quarter inch hole.

Next problem was the rubber at the top was too thick for the PTT button and its retaining thread to poke out the top. I had to use a large drill working from the inside to reduce the thickness. A simple job therefore took ages to complete. The eventual reward was finally slipping the grips onto the sticks. By this time I was anticipating further difficulty, but in fact the grips went on "fairly" easily. The grips are long enough to start to impinge on the curved area of the stick, so it was tough to get the grips to seat down the last inch or so. However, they should not come off accidentally.
