Picture 1 shows the canopy on my work table, from the rear. A blanket on a couple of plastic boxes helps to keep it in shape while I am working on it. I spent some time carefully grinding the excess material from the edges, with a 2-inch Scotchbrite wheel in the angle grinder. My compressor doesn't have enough grunt to run the grinder continuously, so I had to keep starting and stopping. I did this work at around 60 degrees F, without problem. I then used successively finer grades of sandpaper, to 400, to smooth off the ground edges.
I was really chuffed with the second fit. It fitted exactly as I had measured, and confirmed to the plans in all dimensions....but read on. See Pictures 2 and 3.
