Brief Description:  Rivet Baggage Corner Skins and Tailcone

Lots of yellow guck on the Baggage Corner Skin means I was going to get in a glorious mess locating these into position. In fact I got into a bigger mess than I had bargained on. I could not get the corner skin to fit - not just an alignment problem, but a geometric impossibility. In disgust I went off for lunch. When I returned "the light went on". I had clecoed the tailcone on incorrectly. Picture 2 shows the oblique angle of the bottom fuselage skin overlapping the tailcone skin. I had the tailcone skin overlapping the fuselage, just at this tiny corner. Enough to make it impossible to fit the Baggage Corner Skin. Fortunately, by removing the clecoes from the bottom skin I was able to fix the overlap without resorting to drastic measures.

Picture 1 shows a Baggage Corner Skin clecoed with rivets ready to pull. Once I had resolved the geometry problem all was straightforward.

After the corner skins, I riveted the remaining open holes between the fuselage and the tailcone as directed by the plans. There were a bunch of holes in the rear fuselage which had been left open. I assumed these needed to be riveted at this stage, though the plans don't specify this. Hope I'm right.

Picture 3 shows some of the rivets joining the two halves together.
