The deposit for "WY" is burning a hole in my pocket so I placed an order for a Sealey compressor. I found a "deal" on the internet, so hope this doesn't turn out to be a pig-in-a-poke.
I'm hoping this contraption will be needed for the majority of the 12,000 pop rivets. I certainly don't want to be pulling all of them manually! I will also get an air drill and a grinder for trimming metal parts.
The compressor will also drive my paint spray gun, and this latter is influencing the size of unit. Cost constraints have dictated that I should not go overboard, so I have a 3hp unit with a 50 cuft volume. At least that's what I think I have. This is probably acceptable for small doses of spraying but probably won't cope with big spray jobs. I haven't considered how the aircraft will finally be painted, but I doubt I will be doing that myself.
