Step 3 calls for some additional holes to be match-drilled in one of the spars. Much consternation as I could not figure out the plans. It looked like I should be drilling the right spar when the plans called out for the left spar. I consulted the Vans web site (for plan corrections - none), and the VAF web site for hints (none). Finally, I realised I was looking at the wrong side of the spar. I was on the point of making a fool of myself by calling Vans. Of course it could have been even worse if I had started drilling...
Panic over, the final task for the day was to drill out and cut threads in aluminium extrusions already attached to the spars. These allow tie-down hooks to be screwed into the bottom of the wings. They also allow hooks to be screwed into the top surfaces, presumably for lifting.
