Brief Description:  Complete preparation on wing main ribs

Final 25% of ribs get the trim and scotchbrite treatment. As expected this took another 2-3 hours.
The reward was some trial assembly of the main ribs on both spars. This assures that all of the ribs have had the correct treatment, and sequences them along the span. It will be important to keep the ribs for the left wing and right wing separate as deoxidine prep will remove my annotation.

Picture 1 and 2 show the spars assembled on the bench.

Looking back to ensure that I have done everything possible prior to priming I noted to my consternation that I had gone berserk with the riveting earlier on. Picture 3, left, shows an example of the Flaperon Hinge Brackets as assembled by me. Picture 3, right, shows how it should have been done.

I had to drill out 9 rivets per assembly (36 in all) to correct the error. Worse, my rivet removing tool is bust awaiting a replacement drill from Avery. So I had to drill all of these out "manually". I used a 31 drill (one size under), and squeezed out the rivets after drilling with the dimpler. Lots of patient work, taking perhaps 4 hours, but the job was finally done sucessfully. Serves me right for not reading, and rereading before motoring on.
