Brief Description: Rivet hinge brackets to tailcone bulkhead
Now that the damaged hole has been repaired with an oversized rivet, I was able to attach the hinge brackets. These enclose bearings that support the rotation of the all-moving tailplane.
The first picture shows the bearing riveted in. The beefy plate with numerous rivet holes is to ensure that the hinge is securely mounted to the fuselage.
The second picture shows the same bearing from the other side. You can see scratched primer where I attempted to drill out the mis-set rivet. Directly underneath the scratch you can see the honking great rivet that Robin installed for me. I'll need to touch up the paintwork next time I am priming - tomorrow maybe.
