Brief Description:  Big paint booth

I decided I needed to construct a large paint booth to prime the large parts. I think all parts, with the possible exception of some wing parts (e.g. flaperons), are less than 10 ft (or 3 metres in new money) long. This is about the biggest size I can accommodate in the garage and still be able to more around outside the booth.

I settled on a booth 10.5 ft long by 7 ft wide and 7ft high. This can be constructed with a total of 10 panels each 7ft by 3.5ft, plus a further three panels of the same size to form a roof.

I made the frames of wood, strengthened with angle brackets, and covered with polythene. The resulting panels are bolted together with bolts and butterfly nuts for ease of assembly, and disassembly. A roll of 25 metres x 4 metres heavy gauge polythene was more than enough to cover the frames.

I had considered a fancy solution from "Zipwall"...

...but this only provides partitions, not a ceiling, so I ended up rolling my own. Zipwall did have a door that can be inserted in a polythene panel, but even that seemed a bit posh for what I needed, so one panel was attacked with scissors to create an entrance/exit.

This whole caboodle can be assembled in less than an hour, and dismantled in 30 minutes or less. We'll see whether I persevere with this palaver.
