Tim flew in to Perth today to conduct the final check prior to issuing a Permit Maintenance Release confirming that in his opinion the aircraft was fit for airborne testing.
The amount of ice outside the hangar precluded a taxi test, but Tim is happy that Dai (my test pilot) and myself will satisfy ourselves that the brakes are OK, before first flight.
I had previously got Allan to check my carb balance, which fortuitously had remained undisturbed following my work on the engine mounting bolts. I had also adjusted the slow-running so that the engine idles at 1600 rpm, the slowest figure I was comfortable with.
Tim sent me a one-page document formalising the outcome, which I will stick into my new Airframe Log Book.
