Brief Description: The Empennage Sub-Kit

This is the "first" sub-kit in the RV-12 kit. The instructions assume no prior building knowledge so start slowly, and all techniques are explained as they are required. Vans assumes builders will start with the empennage kit, in order to take advantage of this step-by-step learning progression.
However, following the launch of the RV-12 design, the wing and then the fuselage kits became available before the empennage kit so early builders were forced to adopt a non-optimal building approach. As an early purchaser, I obtained the wing and fuselage kits before the empennage kit, but in practice I made little progress until the empennage kit became available, so I essentially followed the preferred route.
Unlike earlier RV kits, the empennage kit contains the fuselage tailcone in addition to the fin, rudder, stabilitor, and anti-serve tabs.
