Brief Description:  Throttle Quadrant

Tried to be quiet for my oldest daughter Allie, who was having a few friends sleep over in the basement, next to my shop, so I tried to find quiet stuff. Got all the pieces for the rear cowl support bracket and figured out how they all went together, and drilled it in assembly. Fastened it to the firewall flange with a bolt, and then clamped it together. I'll see how it fits the lower cowl and then drill the holes, prime and rivet it together. Then I trimmed the aft section of the cowl where the exhaust pipes come out and then sanded and put a final coat of primer on the cowl. The painter can do the rest. Put a few more clamps around the firewall, and ordered some more from Spruce that should finish up the wire tidying in the engine compartment. Then I decided to hook up the throttle quadrant, and get the cable play adjusted correctly, in order to get full travel of the controls. Got the mixture done myself, but couldn't quite start the cable end onto the throttle lever, so had my oldest son Jack turn the cable while I held it from the inside. Worked great and had it done in no time. Just sort of got started on the prop cable before my time ran out, as that will be the hardest one. I think I'll have to take it off the prop govenor, to get the jam nut positioned and then re-attach it. It's behind the engine, so it will be tough. Hopefully, I won't have to remove these cables for any reason. I think I can leave them attached while doing things with the seat pans out, which really won't go on for good until after the wings are attached for the last time. I have to seriously think about where I'm going to put it when I've done all I can do here, which is still plenty. But soon, the engine compartment will be done, and then I'll just be waiting on the panel, and the associated Vertical Power electrical "brain center" and it's wire harness for all the aircraft's systems. I can move the fuselage outside while I work on the wings, getting the insides finished up, and then riveting on the bottom skins.
