Brief Description:  Proseal

Started assembly on the left tank. Used the proseal, tank sealant for the first time, (on the tanks, anyway - used it on the empanage trailing edges). It wasn't too bad and the stiffeners went in smoothly. The fuel drain went on smoothly. The fuel cap, however, was another story. I had to drill out 4 rivets and replace those. Of those, I had to drill out 2, and of those, I had to drill out and replace 1. That was a mess. Proseal everywhere, all my tools out, trying to figure out a better way to get those rivets than back riveting. Because of the curve of the fuel cap flange, getting it to lie flat on the bucking board was tough, and thats what caused all the screwed up rivets. Oh well, it looks pretty good now. Everything is cleaned up and the tape removed, showing nice neat lines of proseal around the stiffeners, and nice circles around the fuel cap and the fuel drains. Cleaned the inside of the right skin, the stiffeners and the fuel drain and fuel cap flange. Put tape around the edges of all that stuff. Cleaned rivets and put them in the stiffener holes, and put back rivet tape on them, in preparation for tomorrows war. The picture shows the right tank fuel cap, but the left one looks the same.
