Brief Description:  Show me some skin!

Finished leveling up the rig, getting rid of .10 inch of twist that was in the right wing. Put a thin shim under one end of the spar, eliminating the twist. Checked the sag of the left wing and put the jack screws under it and snugged them up to the rear spar. Then I fabricated the wing walk doublers but matching them up with the inboard skin, and moving the front edge back 9/16", or 18/32"nds on my ruler, and clamped it down on the workbench, and drilled the 8th, 15th and 22nd holes on each inboard rib. Did that for both wings. Then, I hung up the inboard skin, slipped the wing walk doubler behind the skin, and cleco'd them onto the ribs and spars. Then hung up the outboard skin, and cleco'd it to the ribs and spars. Repeated on the other wing. Had a little problem with the outboard skin of the right wing pillowing some, and not lining up on the spar correctly. Turns out I had turned the jackscrew the wrong way, trying to correct an alignment problem, and had a reverse sag. I reduced the pressure on the spar and evey hole came in alignment perfectly. The cleco's went right in, and the holes haven't even been match drilled yet. Then I drilled the holes in the doubler that weren't drilled on the workbench on both wings. This was a fun day, something I have been looking forward to for a while, hanging the skins on the ribs on my rig. Lots of holes in those wings to drill, but the rest can be reamed.
