Brief Description:  DeBurring, Dimpling

Deburred and dimpled stiffeners for the right elevator. Dimpled the skin too, and had a heck of a time, due the the fact that it is one piece, and it's pre-bent. Trying to keep it open and dimple that by myself was tough, and I finally resorted to using the pop-rivet dimpling method that Smitty uses for all his skin dimpling. That took a lot of time, but I must admit, the dimples are perfect and there is actually less wear and tear on the skin, since it stays stationary and I move the dimpling tool around. Anyway, it's done and I can't wait to do the left skin...not. I also removed strips of the blue stuff prior to deburring and dimpling. On the top of the right elevator skin, the duct tape that was used to hold the skins together for shipment pulled a bunch of the blue stuff off, so I decided to just take all of it off the top side and see what the difference is. It's very time consuming to use the smoothed solder iron to remove strips of that stuff, when the skin of the airplane is going to be painted someday anyway. I'll check it out. Oh yeah, I ordered my wings today. I decided on the float type, since more of the fuel gages are compatable with that type. Keeps my options open.
