Brief Description:  finishing rudder

Finished rudder by back riveting a few of the tight rivets I couldn't get to with the squeezer. Used the skinny long piece of metal that came with my tool kit for tight spaces dimpling. Used it on top of the rivet to form shop head, and hammered on it with mushroom set. Worked great. Couldn't get the last rivet on the top rib, so substituted pop rivets as instructed in the manual. They look okay, flush anyway. Then I finished rolling the leading edges and cleco'd the skins together, then match drilled and pop riveted. I was cleaning up when I noticed a line of rivets I meant to go back to when I received my 4 inch no hole yoke, but didnt. Had to drill out the lower section of pop rivets, squeeze the 5 rivets I left open, and then re rivet the lower section of pop rivets. No biggie. The pnuematic pop riveter is fun. Finally put in the pop rivets on the 405 that I was waiting to do until I received the rivets I needed from Vans. Hung the rudder up on the wall. It's pretty, but it's not just art.
