Brief Description: Back-riveting stiffeners to rudder skin.
We installed the steel back-rivet plate into a cut-out in the carpet covering the workbench. Edges were covered with duct tape to protect the aluminum skins from scratches. A laser pointer was attached to a bracket that was riveted to the drop ceiling track. The laser shines on the center of the plate so that we can be sure we are riveting at the center of the plate.
Brian and I took turns back-riveting the stiffeners. One rivet was buggered and had to be drilled out and replaced. The replacement rivet went in well.
