Brief Description:  door installation, latches

Clamped the latch housings to the window frame and drilled the frame. Taped the two holes in each housing after drilling and intalled provided screws. I reduced the taered srew head each by about 40/1000" , which allowed me to minimize the depth of countersinking the window framd and as a result not to weaken it unnecessarily.I did not use the stop nuts on these screws as suggested by the video, but rather tapped the housing. The srew can not come out in flight and I will loctide it in place after painting is done.
Made a steel bushing on my lathe which fits snugly inside the latch housing with a 1/4" hole to work as a drill guide.Installed it in each latch housing and drilled a 1/4" hole trough the striker plateand door frame. Had to dig out my old hand drill, because the chuck of my electric drill s too big and would interfer with the plaxiglass.
Installed the latch pins and springs into latch housing and installed them all on door frame.
The door fits well with latches closed and the latches can be operated with little force. I am happy with the result!
