... the green blob was removed and it turned out to be green masking tape. The plug was undersized and the tape was put on the plug as a temporary measure to fill the hole. The oil temp probe was disconnected and relocated. Numerous trips to hardware and auto parts stores were made to find a plug that would fit the hole, but the one seen in the photo is only temporary. An aluminum plug and crush washer were ordered online. When received, the aluminum plug will be drilled for safety wire, installed, and the plug and sensor will be safety wired together.
