Brief Description: Empennage - 05 - More Primer Touch Up
- Got some more primer and fixed the leading edge of the rudder. - Also put a 2nd coat of primer on the skins. It was hard for me to tell the difference in the garage but now that I am looking at the pictures with the Rudder next to the VS...I need to put a 2nd coat on the HS and VS. - Went to trial fit the Rudder to the VS and realized the VS hinge bolt holes are a little bit too small. If I threaded the bolts into the holes it would probably do the trick. I don't want to strip the bolts though, so I'm going to look at it more closely and determine if I want to just scuff them them a little with a round file, drill them out a little or just screw the bolts into them. Decisiosn, decisions.
Mostly I am at a stand still until my shipment comes in from Van's (isn't that a common theme...waiting on a shipment from Van's?). I really don't have a complaint because they've got great customer service and friendly people but I really dislike how slow their order fulfillment is and I don't like not getting a tracking number. The word on the street is, they are going to be upgrading their website soon, so hopefully that will get fixed.
