Brief Description: Right Elevator - 05 - Riveting Understructure
- Scuffed right elevator spar; ready for prep and prime. - Dimpled right elevator spar. - Finished dimpling trailing edge ribs with Vicegrip dimpler. - Washed and prepped all right elevator skeleton parts. - Primed right elevator skeleton. - Dimpled right elevator skin; used Vicegrip dimpler on trailing edge. - Riveted counterbalance ribs together (E-703 to E-704). - Riveted reinforcement plates and nut plates to spar (E-610, E-611 and K1000-6 to E-702). - Riveted on root rib (E-709) to spar (E-702). - Riveted counter balance ribs onto spar (E-703, E-704 to E-702). - Riveted on elevator horn (WD-601-P-1 to E-702 and E-709). - Final drilled counter balance skin (E-713) top attach holes and dimpled for CS4-4 pop rivets. - Deburred holes on counter balance skin and touched up primer.
*** NOTE: Need #10 and #12 tools to continue with right elevator. Still need to dimple counterbalance skin and countersink lead counterbalance weight.
