Brief Description: CH4-16: Glassed First Side of Seat Back
Cut the 2nd layer of glass for the seat back and layed up the first side.
Overall, not too bad.
This was the first time I worked with this Epoxy (MGS 285) and I was concerned about it. I really liked it and the pot life was just right with the Fast Hardener (45 to 60 min).
Lining up the seams were a little tedious, I don't usually like to get my gloves wet while working because then everything I touch gets epoxy on it. I did a little planning upfront and had everything staged and near by and that mitigated that problem.
I ended up needing more micro slurry than I thought. I had mixed up almost 10 oz of slurry and ended up needing another 3 to 4 oz.
The second picture shows the difference between the brush out of the package and then after being trimmed down a little bit. This makes it easier to stipple and reduces all the little bristles from getting in your lay up.
