Brief Description: L wing-attach flap hinge and flap
Email from Vans:- Lisa & Peter, It is OK to countersink the hinge, but it is very soft so you have to back up the pilot hole with something like wood or scrap aluminum so the countersink won't wander and make an ugly hole. I prefer to dimple the hinge. Bruce Reynolds brucer@vansaircraft.com Hi Installing the flap brace we dimpled both the skin and brace and riveted them together without the hinge! We have also pop riveted the brace to the spar. Our plan is to drill out the brace/skin rivets then countersink the hinge and rivet it together with the hinge included this time.
