Hung the elevators on the horizontal stabilizer and adjusted the rod-end bearings until all the gaps were equal and the elevator horns lined up perfectly. Took 4" long 16 penny nails and bent the last 1 1/4" of the pointy ends to have easy-install and remove temp pins for the constant on/off it takes to get the elevators lined up just right. Measured the up/down travel of the elevators with a protractor and removed a little material from the horizontal stab spar to get the full 30 degrees. Tempted to drill the hole through the bearing into the horns now but will wait until I do the contols and the final installation.
Bent 16 P nail works great for temp elevator/rudder install. Bearing adjustment tool on right.
