Brief Description:  Elevator weights, trim tab install.

Fabricated the weights per the plans. Cut, filed, sanded until they fit with proper clearance.
Installed the elevators. The right elevator was appropriately slightly forward heavy, allowing some weight to be ultimately drilled out on the inboard weight after final-final assembly. The left elevator, however, was slightly tail heavy. Got to believe it is a function of the electric trim assembly, or the 8 pounds of proseal I used to glue in the trim ribs!. Anyway, I order a new weight from Vans and now both the inboard and outboard weights will be full sized. (Note: received the new weight and shaped it to fit and left it full size and now the left elevator is just slightly forward heavy as it should be).
Frankly, I'm not crazy about this set-up anyway. I would rather see the nuts on the inboard side so that they are inspectable. I might flip the bolts around, epoxy (and jamnut) them in, and counterbore the weights enough to accept the nuts on the inboard side where they will be visable during a walk-around.

Not crazy about this design. I will puts the nuts on the inboard side so they are inspectable.
