Finally bit the bullet and actually inserted some rivets.
Closed the Horizontal Stabilizer with no problems. Used the pneumatic riveter which took a bit of fiddling to get the pressure right.
Used Duralac (barium chromate) on the elevator hinge. I remember this from my boating days - it really does stop the electrolysi between dissimilar metals.
