Brief Description:  Measurement and marking

Cleaned the shop today and got it all ready for the next part. Used a spare piece of .032 2024 material that was about 6 feet long by 10 inches wide to simulate my first spar. I have been learning alot from this sacrificed piece of material. I am trying to figure out the best way to cut it at this time. The metal brake I made seems to work great so I am not worried about that part now. Cutting it is a different story. I tried a jigsaw with a fine tooth blade. I put tape on the bottom to not scratch the aluminum. I tried a short cut and liked how it was cutting so I measured on the real material and started cutting. Only made it about 6 inches when I thought I would check on it. Pulled the saw out and it was scratching. Seems the particles get stuck between the aluminum and the jig saw as you cut and starts scratching. Time to try something different.
