I like so many other people find it hard to believe that it can be so difficult to bend a straight spar on anything other than a high dollar factory made sheet metal brake. This is my attempt to make a brake that will work for what I need to do. I am using a brake design that I got from an idea someone on the bearhawk yahoo group had. That person got it from someone building a CH701 or CH801 and modified it to strengthen it for the 2024 material that the bearhawk uses. I am using a full length piano hinge made of steel and some 3x3x1/4 angle iron. Once I am complete I will post better pictures and more detail if it works. All my spar material is now on order and I have decided to wait on priming the ribs as the weather is turning cold now and I was afraid the primer would not set good.
