Brief Description:  Riveting the skin on the the spar

I finished the skin riveting. I spent quite a long time today just riveting and completed through page 8. Pages 9 through 12 left. Lots of rivets today. I've decided to just match drilll all holes. I think it's better to do this and risk removing a very slight amount of material more than needed than to cause dimples on the skins like I did on my VS. I almost think I should order those parts and build the VS all over again….almost.

It doesn't take much time to match drill and likely saves me time inthe long run rather than fighting rivets into holes. Plus a lot less static stress in the airframe. Also, I see a lot of folks paint and priming all of the their parts. My plan is to not prime much at all save the mixed metal parts. In reality, Van's already paints the non-aluminum parts, so I probably won't do any painting or priming until I'm ready to paint the airplane. I think it's better to do a corrosion X of the airframe anyway, with likely a better outcome and less overall weight than priming everything - which would have many extra pounds to the airplane.
