Brief Description:  Battery Selection and Installation

The main power systems were all installed on the top of the spar inside the firewall. I chose the Odyssey PC680 battery, due to a lot of good reviews in the Canard community. I bought this battery way too early (about 5 years ago I believe). I plan on using it for testing, but I need to replace it before first flight. I bought the Odyssey 12 amp battery charger to maintain it for testing. It seems to be in remarkably good health considering.

All of the solenoids, fuse blocks, Amp limiters, Current Shunts, ground blocks were installed and wired. For the 4 and 8 guage wiring, I used the "Fat" wire that is copper coated aluminum. All 4 and 8 gauge connections are hydraulically crimped.

I tested the solenoid system first. I disconnected all equipement and then connected the battery. The Master and Starter soilenoid operation test was successful.
