The panel was trimmed up and trial fitted in the fuselage; however, it became apparant that the vertical ribs were not aligned properly. Since these were not critical (I had only included them to help with alignment), I cut off all of the vertical ribs that went down around the legs.
I then started to install nutplates for fastening the panel to the fuselage. I used Brass instrument screws MS24693BB273 10-32 5/8 screws. I used the K1000-3 nutplates for the most part. There were a few that I had to use the offset nutplates due to restricted access for the rivet squeezer. Each screw was countersunk into the panel to make a smooth surface.
