We continued working on the aileron training.
We had to make sure the flanges on the part were straight and that it didn’t rock when placed on a flat surface, luckily this part didn’t require fluting but we did use the pliers and a modified a wood tool to straighten the flanges.
We riveted the reinforcements and the ends together to the main part using universal rivets, so no dimpling nor countersinking was required. Unfortunately we could not continue further because the next step was to dimple the skin and a normal riveter wouldn’t do the job. We needed the big one which didn’t have the correct adapter.
We completed a few tasks on the hangar like repositioning the trash bins, and hanging up the cleaning supplies organizer.
If we get our hands on the adapter by Monday, we’ll continue the assembly of the aileron.
