We finally got our hands on some grease to complete step 5 (13-02), we used little pieces of wood to set the spar on the sawhorses to avoid the part from rocking.
We also completed step 4 and 5 (13-03) with the previous technique, using the wedge tool successfully completing section 13.
We completed step 1 (14-02) and created a little gauge made from a little sheet of scrap aluminum that can be seen in figure 2 (14-02). We needed this tool to measure the diameter of the countersink of step 2 (14-02). We started step 2 (14-02) but by countersinking we were making the hole wider than the 9/64” allowed, we’ll contact Van’s to know if we can proceed with something different or if we’ll have to order a new W-1208. We were instructed to skip all the steps that required countersinking so we skipped to step 5 (14-02), 5 and 6 (14-02) were completed with no problems.
We also had to skip steps 7 through 10 (14-02) because these required countersink as well.
The only thing we could do was separating the part W-1207C that is actually not covered in any step but can be seen in figure 6 (14-02).
