Brief Description: Finished VS skin riveting except for rear spar
Linda and I went to Sandy Valley yesterday to work on the Mooney. Just normal maint stuff. Have to say building a new plane is more fun than working on an older one - even if the older one is the best single engine traveling plane in the air...Linda and I riveted the right side of the skin to the substructure today. No hitches. We used 40psi and just hit it for a little shorter time. I would probably buy the Souix 2X rivet gun if I had it to do over at this point. I then squeezed most of the remaining VS rivets except for the rear spar. Sure do like that pneumatic squeezer. I'm finding that I use all three yokes - 3", longerone, and 4" thin nose no-hole. Pricey, but it's much easier to do your best work with the right tools...
