Brief Description: Preped VS substructure ribs. Cleco'd together
I completed edge prep on the VS substructure ribs. Cleco'd together. Found that the rear of the lower (root) main rib did not align well with the rear spar channel VS-803PP. This will cause a poor fit of the skin. Probably just cosmetic, but I don't like the fit. Clamped together with edges aligned and measured misalignment. Turned out to be .040" or so. I could use 3/16" rivets, and this would take up the misalignment, but getting the holes moved will be messy. Alternate fix is to cut the flange off and rivet on a new one . I can then drill the holes where they belong. Think I'll call Vans to see what they recommend.
