Brief Description:  Finish Left HS riveting and start Right HS rivetin

Finished riveting the Left HS. Hardest rivets were the HS-702 to HS-706 -4 rivets. These are pretty heavy duty (-4) rivets for the thin material. It's difficult to get the proper balance of pressures between the gun and the bucking bar so as not to bend the rib. Worked OK. The first row of the skin rivets went pretty slowly using the rivet gauge to check every rivet with the gauge and all, but things went better after we got a rhythm going. Almost like calling your archery shots before you look at the target. The trick is to follow through properly, make the call (too short, just right, or too long) and then check the rivet with your gauge. The learning curve is pretty steep, but soon you will be setting spec. rivets on the first try. We settled on 30 psi for -3 rivets and 40 psi for -4 rivets using a Souix 3X gun. I might have been better off with the Souix 2X gun...We finished up all of the gun set rivets on the left Horizontal Stabilizer and started the right HS today. Van's matched hole system works great, but there are times where having the control surface held in a jig would help with the logistics. We ended up using full rolls of paper towels to shim up the HS between the clecos so we could do the riveting safely.
