Brief Description: Prepared Rudder skeleton parts. Test assemble rud
Completed riveting stiffeners to right skin. Used "C" fram jig to back rivet stiffeners. Prepared rudder skeleton parts and trial assembled according to instructions. Found several areas that needed adjustment for best fit and flat skins. Made drill guide for trailing edge holes from block of oak and split pin. I found a split pin in my spare parts that would just accept a #40 or #41 drill bit through it's hole. Made several test holes in the drill press to get the proper angle for the trailing edge holes. Skin angle at the root measured 14.5 degrees. Skin angle at the tip measured 10.5 degrees. I spit the difference, and divided by 2 to set the drill jig at 6.25 degrees. After several trials, I got the right set up and made the drill jig for the trailing edge holes. Ready to drill next time.
