Using the mangled fuel line as a template, I built a replacement and put it in place on the aircraft. Then I inserted the snap bushing whose hole had caused the problem and ran the copilot cable through it before pinning it into the CPC and connecting the CPC to the panel lead. Not a major disaster after all.
