Brief Description: Remove VP DU, finish firewall plug 2
So the avionics would not start up properly, and I finally traced it to the fact the ground block was not attached. Once that was fixed, I the display for the VP200 would not come up anymore but apparently the system was working fine. After doing a lot of troubleshooting with Vertical Power (multimeter in hand), they decided to have me send the unit back. I removed it this morning - detach 3 cables, unscrew 4 screws.
Now that the firwall holes are sealed, I can attach the cables (they will no longer be in the way for riveting). I started with the firewall plug 2, and pinned in the wires according to the wiring schematic and the color-coding I made when I crimped the pins. I had remembered to add the back-shell before inserting the pins into the plug and, when I was finshed, I screwed the back-shell onto the plug and tightened the clamping portion at the back.
